I have a special relationship with cakes.
As far back as I can remember, every birthday included my favourite…Red Velvet cake! My Nana passed down the recipe to my Mom, originally used by the Waldorf Astoria Hotel. Each year’s birthday cake had a rich buttercream icing and was decorated with lovely, fresh Sweet William flowers.
I have continued the tradition and from my first cake, 20 years ago, I continue to use only fresh flowers to decorate with. It is one of the many creative joys of my business.
